18 December 2002. An early start got me to the Meikle Pap around 09:45, too late to capture the pink light of sunrise, but early enough to capture the oblique morning sunlight glancing off the crags. In the distance on the right are many of the Cairngorm mountains, from Cairn Toul and Braeriach in the west to Beinn a' Bhuird in the east.
